March 2007 Logo Contest


Announcing: The Solon Bicentennial Logo Contest Winner

Friday, June 22, 2007, at 7 p.m. at the Coolidge Library in Solon, Maine, Megan Myers was declared winner of the Solon Celebrates Logo Contest marking the kick-off event for the 2009 Solon Bicentennial Celebration.

A resident of Solon, Megan graduated from Carrabec High School in North Anson, ME in 1999, and is a graduate of the Maine College of Art (MECA) in Portland, ME. The 26 year old entered her Logo along with three other local women, Mrs. Sally Foster, Joyce Flanagan, and Kim McHugh, all from Solon. The Solon Selectmen judged Megan's Logo the winner.

Megan was awarded a gift of $100, and her Logo will be on a stamp cancellation that can be purchased nationally and globally. Megan's Logo will appear on all other Solon Bicentennial memorabilia as well.

Over the next the next year and a half, the Solon Celebrates Planning Team will present a variety of events, all leading up to the culminating Solon Bicentennial Celebration in the summer of 2009.
